I'm happy you're here - Getting started is the bravest thing you can do! My approach is based on building trust, fostering empowerment, and supporting self-compassion and allows for us to work together in exploring patterns, building coping skills, and nurturing resilience.
I provide therapy from an integrative perspective - meaning, I adapt to individual needs and create deep, meaningful change by blending techniques from several different therapy approaches. My integrative approach provides a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel heard and valued while navigating the impact that stress and trauma can bring.
Telehealth sessions are only offered at this time.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and have been working in the field since 2019. I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, with an emphasis in human health perspectives, from Stephen F. Austin State University, where I focused on researching suicide, eating disorders, body image, and self-esteem. I then went on to earn my Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in children and adolescents, from The University of North Texas at Dallas. I also focused on individual, group, family therapy, addiction(s) and recovery, and trauma. In addition to my practice, I provide therapy services at a non-profit for teens, adults, and families that have experienced sexual and/or physical abuse.
I have gained extensive clinical knowledge and experience by working in a patient rehab and medical detox center, group practice, and non-profit. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI).
In my practice, I specialize in working with teens and adults that have experienced stressful or traumatic events, but I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life. Stress and trauma can leave scars that can influence almost every aspect of a person's life, which can make it difficult to navigate daily life. I understand that healing is not linear and that stress and trauma can resurface at any time, but that it does not define who you are as a person or have to feel this way forever. Everyone deserves to feel safe, empowered, and whole. I feel grateful and honored that I am able to witness the progress my clients make each session and, ultimately, complete therapy with a deeper understanding of themselves and a renewed sense of meaning.
Clinical approaches: EMDR therapy, TF-CBT, CBT, internal family systems, somatic experiencing, existential, integrative therapy, person-centered therapy.
Clinical areas of expertise: trauma, family conflict, life transitions, relationship stress, addiction and recovery, exploration of self, eating disorders.
